Dr. Lawson is a licensed psychologist and a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider in Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arizona, a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas School of Public Health, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University. She completed her psychology Internship and Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Lawson held a faculty position as Assistant Professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine from 2000 to 2015. She remains a voluntary clinical faculty member within the Menninger Department of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine, where she consults and conducts specialty topic lectures. Dr. Lawson is also in Independent Practice.
Dr. Lawson has worked with sexual offenders and victims of sexual
abuse for over 25 years. She has worked in outpatient and inpatient
settings as well as within the prison system. For the past ten years she has been a provider of education on the topic of sexual offending and problematic sexual behavior, including chronic pornography use.
Dr. Lawson is qualified to provide therapy for individuals and couples, particularly where the issue of problematic sexual behavior is affecting the relationship. She consults, conducts general psychological and forensic evaluations, and has testified in Family, Criminal, and Federal Courts.
